What Are the Akashic Records?
The Akashic Records are often described as an energetic archive or field of consciousness that holds the imprint of every soul’s journey—past, present, and future.
Although the term Akashic Records gained prominence in Western esoteric traditions, the concept appears in many ancient cultures. Similar ideas are referenced in Egyptian, Persian, Jewish, and Mayan cosmologies. In the Bible, this field is referred to as the “Book of Life.” In Eastern traditions, it is understood as the memory of nature itself. These diverse references point to a shared understanding: that a non-physical record of existence is accessible to those who seek spiritual truth.
The Akashic Records gained renewed attention in the early 20th century through the trance readings of Edgar Cayce, often referred to as the “sleeping prophet.” Later, Dr. Linda Howe became a widely respected teacher in the field, developing a structured methodology for accessing the Records through prayer and spiritual alignment. Her work helped establish the Records as a practical and teachable system for spiritual inquiry.
My training in the Akashic Records took place through Hilary Pearlson, whose approach draws from Linda Howe’s lineage and offers a devotional, intuitive path grounded in spiritual integrity. I completed both her formal course and a private mentorship, and I continue to return to her work often. Her guided meditations and practice resources remain part of my own spiritual rhythm, and I wholeheartedly recommend her teachings to those who feel called to this work.
The Akashic Records are a central part of my spiritual practice, offering an ongoing source of guidance, clarity, and creative inspiration. They have helped me access a deeper and more meaningful understanding of myself, my purpose, and my soul’s journey.
How I Use the Akashic Records
The messages I receive help me make aligned decisions in both my personal life and my business; in fact, the majority of my written content and offering development has emerged from this co-creative space.
I currently access the Records 3–5 times per week and have been committed to this practice for years. Over time, I’ve refined my ritual into a personal rhythm of soul alignment.
My ability to access the Records has evolved as well—from veiled symbolic impressions and scattered imagery into a clear and prolific channeling. It now feels like an ongoing dialogue, one that is divinely intimate. I truly can’t imagine not having this relationship in my life.
My Process for Accessing the Akashic Records
As a channeling practice: I open my Records to receive direct messages, which I record aloud as I walk in nature. These messages often arrive in full sentences or sequences, and I transcribe them later to identify recurring themes and action steps.
To enhance tarot readings: When I prepare for a client session, I will often open either my own Records or the Records of Pure Tarot. This attunement heightens the intuitive field of the reading, helping me receive clearer insights and deeper energetic guidance around the cards.
If you’re curious to experience the Akashic Records in your own life, I’ve created a concise two-page Guided Practice to help you begin. Inside you’ll find the steps I follow to prepare, open, and close the Records—plus the Akashic opening and closing prayers I use regularly.
